Ingredients
Herby Store Bought Tomato Sauce
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 jar tomato sauce (24-ounces)
  • 2 cloves garlic (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano (leaves only, chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon thyme (leaves only, chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Kosher salt (to taste)
  • fresh basil (leaves only, to garnish)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated, to garnish)
Directions
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Drop the pasta into the salted water and cook according to package instructions.
  • Meanwhile, in heavy bottomed saute pan, over medium high heat, add the tomato sauce. Stir in the garlic, oregano, thyme, crushed red pepper and season with salt to taste. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove the pasta, along with 1/4 cup of pasta water and basil leaves to the saute pan and toss to combine. Serve warm and top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Tip: Make this sauce your own by adding your favorite blend of herbs!
